About me
My name is Anna Andermo, and I am a certified doula and a mother of four. I live in Kortedala, Gothenburg with my husband, our children, and a cat.
I am passionate about helping you find the strength to give birth, with the right knowledge through preparation, trusting your own abilities, and ensuring safety—creating a secure space for your birth. This can look many different ways, and together, we will explore what works best for you and your family.
Those who know me or have had me as their doula would likely say that I am positive, calm, and reassuring. I have experience supporting births in hospitals and at home, including vaginal births, cesareans, water births, single parents, inductions, first-time mothers, and those with previous birth trauma. I have supported birthing individuals who were excited to give birth, as well as those with significant birth fears. Regardless of how you feel, I will be with you every step of the way—through preparation, during the birth, and afterward. I have previously lived in England and support families in both Swedish and English. I am trained as a pregnancy massage therapist, acupressurist for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I administer NADA ear acupuncture, and I am a certified Aktiv Baby instructor.
I have personally given birth both spontaneously and through induction, in water and on land, in hospitals and planned home births. I created this site to give you a sense of who I am, but if you're interested, I would be more than happy to meet in person! Contact me to schedule a free introductory conversation.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know you!
With love,
Anna
Why did I become a doula?
I became a doula because, after my third birth, I realized how crucial continuous and reassuring support is.
When I gave birth to my second child, it was with a midwife I had known for a while and trusted wholeheartedly. It was an incredibly empowering experience that made me eager for more births! So when it was time to give birth to my third child, I was filled with anticipation. "On paper," everything looked very positive—but my experience turned out to be quite different, as I didn't receive the same support during labour. After that birth, I decided to train as a doula. I realized it's not about having "the perfect birth," but rather about being surrounded and supported. The experience affects not only the birth itself but also the early time with your baby, parenthood, self-image, any siblings, and the relationship with your partner. With my fourth baby, I planned a home birth with a team I chose myself, and I emerged from that experience feeling empowered, which also extended into my parenting and day to day life.
No matter how you choose to give birth, my main advice to you is this:
Investing in continuous support is so worth it, to give yourself the best foundation for a positive birth experience!

My youngest son as my doula at the birth of his little sister, December 2023.
Things I love.
